Whyyy would you do this?

The Short Version

I love painting.

The Long Version

Well, I am a geologist by trade and got my masters degree back in 2019 because I love licking rocks. Just kidding… kinda. I explored geology mainly for the beautiful places it led me and the incredible adventures I embarked on in the persuit of rocks and understanding earth’s histroy. I also had an idealized fantasy of never working behind a desk from which I believed the field of geology would guard me. Unfortunately, upon receiving my masters degree and landing a job, I also landed myself behind a desk. The desk life never sat well with me as I set out on an unstoppable life journey to be a free spirit and live a life filled with travel, extreme adventure, and art.

I began painting as a 14 year old freshman in high school. I instantly fell in love with the creative process and expression painting allowed. I was obsessed, enrolling in painting all 4 years of high school. Senior year I landed myself a highly sought after spot in AP Studio Art amoungst only 10 other senior artists. Painting my years and feelings away through high school, I went on to take a couple painting classes in college. The focus shifted to what I thought would be successful, a career in science. While being a scientist is fulfilling in it’s own right, it doesn’t hold a candle to the invigorating feeling of putting paint to canvas. Painting is my avenue to achieving a flow state, where time ceases and nothing else around me exists. A true gift. My artwork is an emotional expression. Each work has it’s own unique deep meaning that is derived from my personal experiences, adventures, travels, and spiritual awakening. I largely focus on the duality of human experience to that of the soul purpose. So many of us are stuck in a rat race construct trying to achieve societies definition of happiness instead of setting the definition of happiness for ourselves. Our soul invigorating purpose as humans is ultimately creation and enjoyment of every little moment.  I hope to inspire others to create every single day, find their own passion in this world, truely be free, and find inner happiness.

My passion for pure adventure, creativity, travel,  and freedom drive the inspiration for my art work.

I am now trying to paint full time, on my own pursuit of happiness.
